Louth Football in the Community Cup

Kids trainingApril 2nd saw the first annual Louth FITC Cup. The tournament was open to all schools within the Louth based area, and we had a great response. With schools coming from all different areas including North Somercoates, Aby, Utterby and Tetney. That response was that great the tournament saw 120 children involved in total. The tournament was kindly sponsored by Lesley and Chas Bray of Crowtree Catering, who are based at Louth Golf Club where the presentation evening will be taking place.

We had 12 teams enter which started with group stages, then moving onto the semi finals and the final. The semi finals saw Tetney play Kidgate (A) and St. Michaels play Kidgate (B). It was Kidgate A who won the first semi final 3-0 and St.Michaels went through their semi final after a close 4 - 2 win on penalties.

The Final saw Kidgate A playing St.Michaels, which was a great game to watch for the spectators. It was a great final which finished 0-0 with st.Michaels hitting the cross bar late into the second half. The game went into Golden goal extra-time. This was again a tight match but it was St. Michaels who got the winning golden goal securing them the trophy for this year. All the children involved were a great credit to their school.
