Grimsby FITC Football League Community Cup

Friday 16th March saw the annual FITC Football League Community Cup, which was held at the Grimsby Institute. The tournament was a great event which saw more teams than any previous events. The event included 26 teams from 20 different schools, all coming from the N.E Lincs area.

The tournament was run with six groups with each team playing three group matches, which led to the top placed team and two best runners up going through to the quarter finals.

The final saw Stallingborough beat William Barcroft 1 - 0, with a last minute goal from Kieran Grantham. Stallingborough will now go on to represent Grimsby FITC at the regional finals Northern Section. Teams who do well in the regional finals have the opportunity to go on and play in the final which is held on the new Wembley pitch. All children who took part on the 16th were a great credit to their school.
