About Football in the Community
Introduction
Grimsby Town Football in the Community was originally formed in 1986.
The programme is currently managed by ex-Grimsby Town player, assistant
manager and manager Graham Rodger. Also the programme has ex-Grimsby Town
player Gary Childs, as Football in the Community Officer. Our programme
is constantly moving forward to become a well established, progressive
and self supporting scheme that reaches out to all areas of the communities
within the North East Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire area.
Background into Football in the Community
Grimsby Town Football in the Community plays a key role within the local
society in developing the game through our programme.
The Football in the Community scheme delivers a wide range of sessions, courses and programmes, all designed to involve the community as a whole to the culture of the game.
Developments
All Football in the Community coaches are professionally qualified, meeting all Criteria regarding Child Protection and First Aid Practice. Grimsby Town FITC continually aims to expand and improve our full range of services to all areas of society and as a result improves inclusion for all young people within the area to be involved in physical activity through our scheme.
Aims and Objectives
To provide Children from the area the opportunity to be involved with football regardless of their age and ability.
To imprint into children positive messages regarding healthy living and fitness.
To access as many youngsters as possible through our wide range of programmes offered.
To develop partnerships through society to help deliver the objectives of a quality, high profile Football in the Community programme inspired through football.
To help improve the lives of local people and contribute to the regeneration of the local area.
To generate a positive Grimsby Town Football in the Community experience to all participants.
To continue to represent Grimsby Town Football Club in a positive manner.
